Maria Mire 

(Maputo,1979). Vive e trabalha em Lisboa. O trabalho artístico e de investigação que desenvolve desde 2001 é sobretudo centrado nas questões da perceção da imagem em movimento. É doutorada em Arte e Design pela Faculdade de Belas Artes do Porto em 2016, com a tese “Fantasmagorias: a imagem em movimento no campo das Artes Plásticas”.

Atualmente é professora e co-responsável do Departamento de Cinema/Imagem em Movimento do Ar.Co., em Lisboa. Colabora igualmente no Mestrado em Património Cinematográfico e Audiovisual da ULHT, assim como no Mestrado de Artes do Som e da Imagem da ESAD.CR. 

No âmbito da dupla artística que tem com Aida Castro, ambas foram editoras convidadas da INTERACT #34 sob o tema DEAD LINK: mediações das práticas artísticas (2021) e do número 59 da Revista de Comunicação e Linguagens, com o tema Corpos-Media: Matérias e Imaginários (2024).

Realizou o filme PARTO SEM DOR, uma conversa imaginada com Cesina Bermudes, que integrou a seleção oficial do INDIELISBOA 2020 e na sua passagem pelo PORTO FEMME – International Film Festival recebeu o Prémio Melhor Documentário – Competição Nacional. O seu último filme CLANDESTINA, estreou em 2023 no Doclisboa, sendo um projeto cinematográfico produzido pela TERRATREME e que contou com o apoio do ICA - Instituto do Cinema e Audiovisual e da RTP.

(Maputo, 1979). Lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal. Her artistic and research work, since 2001, focuses mainly on the perception of moving image. Has a PhD in Art and Design by FBAUP in 2016, with the thesis "Phantasmagorias: the moving image in the field of contemporary artistic practice".

She is currently teacher and co-director of the Cinema/Moving Image Department of Ar.Co, in Lisbon. She also teaches at the PhD in Media Art and Communication, at ULHT, as well at the Master in Arts of Sound and Image, at ESAD.CR.

As part of the artistic duo, she has with Aida Castro, both were guest editors of INTERACT #34 under the theme DEAD LINK: mediações das práticas artísticas (2021) and of RCL - Journal of Communication and Languages #59 under the theme CORPOS-MEDIA: Matérias e Imaginários (2024).

She directed the film PARTO SEM DOR, an imagined conversation with Cesina Bermudes, that was part of the official selection of INDIELISBOA 2020 and that won the Prize for Best Documentary of the National Competition of PORTO FEMME – International Film Festival. Her last film CLANDESTINA, premiered in 2023 at Doclisboa, and was produced by TERRATREME and supported by the Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual – ICA and RTP.
