Aida Estela Castro 

Investigadora, docente e artista. Doutorada em Ciências da Comunicação: Comunicação e Artes pela Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCSH UNL), com a tese Mapeamento do Espaço entre Arte e Ciência na Cultura Contemporânea: Ligação e Intervalo (2019), tendo sido bolseira da FCT. Atualmente é professora na secção Multimédia na Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto, onde leciona nos programas de Licenciatura e Mestrado. É membro integrado da unidade de investigação ICNOVA e colaboradora do i2ADS. É coordenadora do projeto de investigação (de)MONSTRAS: imaginários, corporalidades e materialidades anfíbias (2023.24, ICNOVA). E, com Cristina Mateus, de VIDEODREAMS: Práticas dos imaginários (2022, FBAUP).

Trabalha com Maria Mire numa dupla artística desde 2017. Co-editou, com Maria Mire, a revista Interact #34, Revista Online de Arte, Cultura e Tecnologia, sobre o tema DEAD LINK: mediações das práticas artísticas (2021) e o número 59 da Revista de Comunicação e Linguagens, com o tema Corpos-Media: Matérias e Imaginários (2024).

Desde 2023 colabora como investigadora com Rogério Nuno Costa no âmbito do projeto europeu STAGES - Sustainable Theatre Alliance for a Green Environmental Shift, associado ao Teatro Nacional D. Maria II.

Researcher, teacher and artist. She has a PhD in Communication Sciences: Communication and the Arts from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the New University of Lisbon (FCSH UNL), with the thesis Mapping the Space between Art and Science in Contemporary Culture: Link and Interval (2019), having been awarded an FCT scholarship. She is currently an invited teacher in the Multimedia department at Fine Arts University of Porto (FBAUP), where she teaches Art and Technology, Artistic Practices Project, Image and Movement and Videographic Practices in the Master's and Bachelor's programmes. Integrated member of the ICNOVA research unit and a collaborator with i2ADS.

She is the coordinator of the research project (de)MONSTRAS: imaginaries, corporalities and amphibious materialities (2023.24, ICNOVA). And, with Cristina Mateus, VIDEODREAMS: Practices of the Imaginary (2022, FBAUP).

She has been working with Maria Mire in an artistic duo since 2017. With Maria Mire also co-edited Interact #34, Online Journal of Art, Culture and Technology, on the theme DEAD LINK: mediations of artistic practices (2021) and issue 59 of the Journal of Communication and Languages (ICNOVA), on the theme Media-Bodies: Matters and Imaginary(2023.24).

Since 2023, she has been collaborating as a researcher with Rogério Nuno Costa as part of the European project STAGES - Sustainable Theatre Alliance for a Green Environmental Shift, in association with the D. Maria II National Theatre.
